The sun was clear, glittering, and warming. This type of weather was her favorite, when she could lay back on her side and look up at the sun and the tops of the trees and just feel at ease. However, there was a nip in the air and she was chilled down to her very bones, which wasn't all that difficult because of how skinny she was. The snow fluttered down in small little ribbons, her eyes watching them carefully and quietly. The green irises that resided in her eyes were bright and vivid and never dulled, but only grew with intensity as she grew more passionate about something, whether she be mad, angry, excited or otherwise. Jele stood on the brink of the water, on the small, raised shelf of a bog, and stood almost perfectly still, with only the slight turn of her head every few minutes.
The world she lived in was slowly changing and yet changing much too fast at the same time. It wasn't something she was at all familiar with, as her life as a nomad was always pretty fast paced but at least she knew what was happening. Travel was always slow. She had spent her fair share of time trekking across lands that she didn't know, and because of her long and lengthy journeys she had learned the caution one needed to survive this ever changing world. Her long legs had crossed miles upon miles of land and she had somehow ended up here, up in the region they deemed constantly cold and snowy. It was winter, too, and Jele's skinny bodice wasn't fit to deal with this cold weather for much too long. Not even the beaches she stood on were much help at all in keeping her malnourished frame very warm for long.
Her coat had grown long and smooth, instead of fluffy and rough like much of her comrades. The only part that really stuck out as "winter coat" on her thin frame was the fur around her neck and chest. Other than that, her fur was relatively smooth, hugging her tight curves all the way down to the tip of her tail, which had also grown itself out. She tucked her nose under all that fur at night and for now that was what kept her fairly warm, but now it was blizzard season and she would soon have to find a pack (or a man, preferably) to keep her a bit warmer. Packs had always put Jele a bit on edge, even though she was such a dominant and head strong figure. Her alpha nature, however, came with more paranoia than she could really live comfortably with. Her pack members would always be plotting against her, the neighboring packs would constantly be attempting war with her, the food would always be too short should she take up such a position. It wouldn't end well, but she was determined to at least try it one of these days.
But for now it seemed, she would have to carry on her life as a nomad. Maybe she would stay here, maybe she wouldn't.
